The Belgrave Encounter
I had my first encounter when i was about 21. I was living in a share house in a really old suburb called Belgrave, bout 40 kms from the city melbourne up in what they call The Dandenong Ranges, up in the mountains, tall forests of trees and really dark at night time as there weren't a lot of street lights. The house we lived in used to be the old bank way way back in the day, and the house next door used to be the old cop shop. The area was also well known for people practicing witchcraft. The whole place just has a certain feel about. Like a thickness to air that I could feel when I ran my hands through it.
Before moving into the house i had been told that it was haunted. My house mates who lived their had nick named the ghost 'Billy', and all had different tales about him. Apparently, the story goes; 'Billy' was a workman who had been working on the roof and fell off from the highest point, and as the house slopped down a hill, it was a pretty big drop and he died. And the main area of the house that he haunted was the lounge room, which was just under the area of roof where he would of fell from.
So, not being too worried about it all, i moved in.
It was probably about a month or two after living there that he started to interact with me. As i was working at night,i was pretty much home alone during the day by myself. And with the way the kitchen was situated, if you were standing at the sink doing dishes, you would have your back to the lounge room.
At first it started with hearing footsteps behind me, and i'd turn around and no one was there. So when i decided that i would stand sideways to the sink and do the dishes that way, from the corner of my eye i could a black shape walking past as if going from one end of the lounge room to the other.
This went on repeatedly for about month or so and wasn't bothering me too much. little freaky, but ok.
Not long after, i had an encounter in my bedroom at night; which was just off the hallway from the lounge room. I was sitting on the floor in my room playing PS1, back resting against my bed, with my back to most of the bedroom. When the bed started to gently vibrate back and forth; i let it go for a few seconds and then turned my head around quickly to see the rest of the room behind me with nothing there and then it stopped. I turned back around to my game, and after a few minutes, and it started again. I turned around again and this time said firmly 'stop it please'. And then it stopped. I Returned again to my game. And again after a few minutes, it started again. This time i got up and left the room to go see if my house mates were doing anything that might be causing the house to shake and make my bed vibrate or whatever. But they'd just been sitting on the couch in the lounge room, one watching tv, one reading a book. When i went back to room it didn't happen again.
The next time after that, about a month or so; as i was also going through some really bad times, he started to play with my emotions. I'd find myself extremely sad all the time, bawling my eyes out for no reason, almost hysterically sometimes, i had honestly thought i was going crazy, i couldn't understand what was happening to me. It was pretty frightening at the time.
A friend of the house mates who had lived in the area for years, was also a councilor, so i went and saw him to go talk about it what was going on. He first mentioned that a few years earlier he had tried to help out my house mates and cleanse/bless the house. He also said all the negative energy that was in the area, due to the history of the place and the witchcraft that goes on up there, and that because i was such a sensitive person (and i am) that the negative energy is just attracted to me like a magnet. And was causing all this craziness i was feeling. Which i believe. As I had mentioned earlier about the air having a thickness to it? Whenever i would head down the mountain and get back into my old area where my parents lived or anywhere for that matter, I couldn't feel that thickness in the air anymore, it just wasn't there. It was the strangest thing.
I ended up moving out the house a few weeks later.
