My team has been investigating a building... oddly enough one of the claims that go back 50 years is odd whirlwind/tornados orignination from the floor.  Although no current photo is available this supposedly has been photographed at least once.  Microclimates have been ruled out as the cause and the sightings predate airconditioning and the first sighting occured when there was only a old style wood stove for heat.  If anyone has run across this I would be interested in hearing from you.  I will also entertain any theories out there as well.
